It will be Canada’s 155th birthday this July 1, and celebrations will be held across the country to recognize a century of a-half of growth, prosperity, and pride in our nation.
In New Tecumseth the focus of events will be in Tottenham this year with a full line-up of activities.
There will be no official Canada Celebrations held in Alliston or Beeton.
Canada Day events will all take place the Tottenham Conservation Area and will go all day and into the night.
The event is sponsored the Town of New Tecumseth and the Beeton Tottenham BIA.
The opening ceremonies and Citizen Awards will kick off the day at 1:00 p.m.
In the park, there will be a full slate of activities for all ages.
For kids, there will be children’s performers where the young ones can participate in the show have some fun, and there will be face painting to make it a colourful day.
Live bands will be on the stage all day long.
There will also be food vendors, and artisan market, a photo booth, and carnival games.
The highlight of the day will be the fireworks show that will take place just after dusk.
It has been several years since the fireworks exploded over the Conservation Area so this year’s show is expected to be spectacular.
This is a free event so pack up the family or meet with some friends and head on over the Park to have some fun.
There will be limited parking so if you live in town, you are encouraged to get some exercise and walk over the Conservation Area to enjoy the events.
This is the return of Canada Day events after two years where nothing took place due to the pandemic, so get out and enjoy the day.
