The Blackhorse Village Players Theatre is set to open “The Enchanted Journey”, a children’s play written by Cristina L. White.

This is the second production to hit the stage for the theatre’s 50th anniversary season. “The Enchanted Journey” was first presented in January of 1975. The story finds a young prince who sets out on an adventure to rescue a princess that has been taken prisoner by a giant. Along the way he meets a musical jester, a fairy godmother and two wickedly funny witch sisters.

“The Enchanted Journey” has all the elements of a fairy tale story about courage, friendship, and magic. The talented cast features, Melanie Burgess, Ginny and Ivor Cathcart, Michelle Lanoue-Williams, Robert Redden, Sandra Tamm, and introducing newcomers, Rachel Whipple and Colleen O’Connell, all under the direction of Cheryl Phillips.

Performances start on Saturday, Jan.21 with two matinees and an evening show, and continues on Jan. 22 and 28, with the closing performance on Sunday, Jan. 29.
