CIBC Run For The Cure launches new run site in Alliston

Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation – Ontario Region is pleased to announce Alliston as a new Run site in the 22nd annual Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure. Canada’s largest single-day, community-driven, fundraising event in support of the breast cancer cause will take place in more than 60 communities on Sunday, October 6, 2013.

“We are thrilled that Alliston has expressed a desire for further involvement in the breast cancer community,” says Sandra Palmaro, CEO of Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, Ontario Region.  “With this disease touching so many lives, Alliston now has the chance to come together in support of breast cancer research, education and awareness through the CIBC Run for the Cure.”

The first-ever Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure Alliston will be led by volunteer Site Manager Erin Christiano, owner of East Side Mario’s in Alliston. With East Side Mario’s being a national sponsor of the event, Erin knew she wanted to get involved. She led the charge in Alliston becoming a Run site.

“From all the local businesses to survivors, I was truly touched by the amount of love and support from everyone who came out last year when we weren’t even a Run site. Now that we are, I couldn’t be happier to get the wonderful people of Alliston even more involved in this event.”
