The Alliston Coyotes showed why they are at the top of the standings in the Greater Metro Hockey League with a 12–0 win over the Shelburne Sharks Thursday (Oct. 8) night at the New Tecumseth Recreation Centre.
The Coyotes dominated the play for the entire game beginning with a first period that saw the Alliston team open with three unanswered goals in the first period from Nils Niklasson, Austin Cunningham, and Hayden Way.
Returning for the second frame the Coyotes again peppered the Sharks goalie scoring six more before the buzzer sounded to end the frame.
The game wrapped up with a shut-out when the Coyotes scored three more in the final period to end the game and notch their seventh win of the season.
They now have a 7–1 record and 14 points to lead the Central Division.
Across the League, Kingsville of the South Division is leading over all going undefeated after nine games.
The Temiscaming Titans are leading the North Division with a 7–1 record and 14 points.
The Coyotes will be back on home ice tonight (Oct. 15) to host the Oshawa RiverKings.
Game time is 7:30 p.m.
