Crime Stoppers of Simcoe–Dufferin–Muskoka: On Saturday the 7th of June 2014 at 2 a.m. Barrie Police were called to an alarm at Assikinack Public School at 226 Little Avenue in the City of Barrie. When they arrived they found that the school had been broken into and parts of the building were filling up with smoke. Barrie Fire attended and extinguished the fire. Damage due to this senseless act is over a million dollars and the school is closed for the remainder of the year.
