Essa council is reviewing the use of unlicensed trailers as billboards in the township.
Mayor Terry Dowdall told council at its last meeting that he received a number of calls from local residents who were complaining about their long term use.
“People seem to be using as a low cost alternative to billboards and some neighbours are complaining about them staying on properties forever,” he said.
Council agreed that it might be a difficult issue to regulate since so many commercial trailers are painted to serve as advertising.
“I guess the determining issue might be if the trailer is licensed,” said councillor Keith White.
Council will ask for a report from staff on the matter.
