On Friday, May 24th Father F.X. O’Reilly held it’s 2nd Annual Spring Fling Fundraiser.
Organized by the School Council, which is mostly comprised of parent volunteers, this event proved to be quite successful raising close to $9000.
The event included a BBQ dinner, a silent auction and a raffle.
The silent auction included gift baskets that were made with the help of the students and their families, each providing a gift to put towards a specific theme designated to each classroom.
There were well over 40 baskets to bid on as well as gift cards from local businesses in Beeton and Tottenham including Colette Orfeo Photography, San Do Jutsu Karate School, The Whistle Stop, The Sushi Chef, Mr. Gigi’s, Cedar Kitchen, Freedom Junction, Man of Yorke and Seasons Floral Studio.
The raffle included some intriguing prizes including electronics and recreational equipment.
The Hargreaves Family proved to be the big winners having their name drawn for two of the raffle prizes but being generous enough to donate one of them back to be drawn again for another lucky winner. They were very happy to go home with a 47” 3D television that night.
Here is the full list of winners and their prizes: 26” Schwinn Mountain Bike – Lori Hollingshead; 8G iPod & iTunes card – Darren Baigent; 5.5 qt KitchenAid Mixer – Eva Weidlich; 32G Wii U & Games – Tim Morrison; I Robo vacuum – David Humphries; 10’ Kayak with Skirt & Paddle – Kim Ernst; Great Wolf Lodge Gift Card – Cindy Elmer; Gas Pressure Washer – Catherine Chin; 16G iPad – Todd Hicks; 47” LG 3D Smart TV & 3D Blue-Ray Player – Tena Hargreaves.
The money raised will be going towards indoor and outdoor play equipment, school team uniforms and other educational tools for the classrooms.
A big thank you goes out to the school community for helping to make this event a huge success.
