The Tottenham Community Week Family Fishing Derby is set to take place again this year, during a Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) Free Family Fishing Week (July 5–13, 2014).
The event takes place on Sunday, July 6th, from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Tottenham Conservation Area – Mill Street entrance.
Registration is $5 per person, which includes live bait, bottled water, Freezies and the chance to win a trophy.
Participants will be organized into three age categories: adult (18+); youth (12–17); children (2–11). Prizes will be awarded in all three age categories for the largest fish (based on weight).
There is also trophies for the ‘Most Unusual Catch’; ‘Most Sportsman Like’; and our signature, ‘Kinda’ Fishy’ (judges choice award).
The Tottenham Pond is stocked with Sunfish, Perch, Rock Bass, and Large Mouth Bass.
Please bring your own fishing rod, tackle box, lawn chair, bucket and any other fishing supplies you may need as none will be available to participants the day of. Please also dress for the weather (sun hat, sunscreen, etc.) Rain or shine. No fishing licence required. Live worms will be provided, but please bring your own tackle.
This year, pre-registration is not required.
