Fundraiser for local man

March 28, 2013   ·   0 Comments

Alliston resident Jeff Coyle was involved in a snowmobile accident earlier this year on the outskirts of Midland and local residents are coming together to see him through the healing process.

Following the accident, Jeff underwent numerous surgeries in attempt to repair the extensive damage done to one of his legs. Unfortunately, the damage was severe and doctors had to amputate part of his leg just below the knee. Jeff now spends his days working with an occupational and physical therapist to regain independence. Quite the opposite from his days working at the Honda plant. He won’t be able to work for a while and will spend four weeks at home after his discharge from the hospital on April 3rd. His friends, family, and the community are coming together to support him and his family.

Close friend Tara Nimmo has been working tirelessly to raise awareness for Jeff’s situation. Tara has organized two community events. On Sunday March 31st, the theatre will be showing Monsters Inc. The movie starts at 2 p.m. with admission by donation with all proceeds given to Jeff. A benefit dance has also been scheduled for June 22nd at the Alliston Memorial Arena.
