If you’re looking to make a big change to your hairstyle – or even who does your hair – there’s a new option in New Tecumseth.
The Art of Shears, owned by Mary Gunst (head stylist) is now open at 12 Mill Street East (beside McGeoy Bros.) and promises to churn out some head turning looks, based on the business’ motto of being, funky, fresh and forward.
Mary has been styling hair for 25 years and recently moved to Tottenham from Alberta to be closer to her son who lives in Beeton. Hoping to stand out for her long standing reputation in the hair stying industry, product knowledge and innovative cuts and colours, Mary is now taking new clients ready to make a bold leap forward.
“We can do it all here,” Mary told the Times. “We like to keep up with the latest trends and techniques so we can offer clients the best specialized haircutting.”
The Art of Shears also offers: highlighting/low lighting, silk straightening, strategic custom colour, deep conditioning treatments, blowdrys and styling, up-do’s and formal styles, as well as extensions.
Marys also employs a barber, Amy Margarida, who offers barber cuts and hot towel shaves.
“We stand apart because we really listen to our clients and give them our undivided attention,” said Mary. “Everything we do here is extremely personalized. We pay attention to every detail.”
