On Sunday, The Clothes Line held its Spring Fashion Show and ChangetheWorld fundraising event at Kingsmere Retirement Village in Alliston. The event, run by youth volunteers, raised $260 but more importantly – raised awareness for a great cause. The fashion show was sponsored by Kingsmere Retirement Suites, and featured a selection of women’s, men’s, youth and children’s fashions that can be found at The Clothes Line – CONTACT’s non-profit thrift store located in downtown Alliston. Proceeds from the event will be donated to CONTACT Community Services to support its community programs and services. “We are putting out the call to all South Simcoe youth aged 14–18 to take the challenge, volunteer, and help change our community for the better,” said Jennifer Gibson, Youth Engagement Coordinator for CONTACT Volunteer South Simcoe, “The Clothes Line Spring Fashion Show has sparked interest in local youth who are eager to volunteer their time and talents.” Youth interested in signing up for other ChangeTheWorld volunteer opportunities are encouraged to join the ChangeTheWorld South Simcoe Facebook Page; visit www.volunteersouthsimcoe.ca, call 705 435-4900 ext. 204, or email Jennifer Gibson at jennifer@contactsouthsimcoe.ca
