On July 20, at 7:43 p.m., an officer from the Nottawasaga OPP noticed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Victoria Street in Alliston and then noticed it was without a licence plate

Police conducted a traffic stop to determine the reason for the infraction and determined that the driver of the vehicle was impaired by alcohol. The driver was arrested and through the course of the investigation later charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Over 80 mgs and Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle under the Criminal Code of Canada.

The 36 year old male from the Town of New Tecumseth will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on August 8, in Bradford to deal with the charges.

Over the weekend, officers conducted R.I.D.E programs in various locations and in two of the R.I.D.E spots, police issued three drivers with provincial offences notices for Driving while Suspended.
