On Sunday October 6th at Trinity United Church in Beeton, a stained glass window dedication ceremony was held in memory of Thelma Jean Somers. The ceremony was hosted by her husband Thomas and their family including the couples 8 children, 15 grandchildren, and 30 great grandchildren. There were several very close members of the Beaver Bible Class in attendance as well.
The window depicts the nativity of Jesus and speaks to the mystery of faith and reminds of us that radical moment in Bethlehem, and reads, “When you lose someone, your love becomes a memory and the memory becomes a treasure. God is love, love one another. To The Glory of God and in loving memory of Thelma Jean Somers, “Somie”. June 19, 1921 – Aug. 30, 2012 by her husband of 70 years, Thomas, and family dedicated October 6, 2013.”
