“The Tottenham Beeton & District Chamber of commerce is a not-for-profit organization that is built on membership. We are directed by a volunteer board of business people who work to support local economic development and promote tourism,” said Prothero. “We advocate, educate, support and promote for our business members. Through organizations such as the Ontario Chamber of Commerce, we can advocate and support our members on a higher level than municipal. We can educate our membership on marketing trends and important issues that affect the daily operation of business. We support our members through discount programs and networking. Through our own innovative marketing we promote our members, to help grow their business.”
With regards to the TBDCC involvement with the community, Jess Prothero had this to say, “We support community through our events and other events that we participate in. The TBDCC donates back into the community on behalf of our business members, connecting businesses to local organizations. We participate in other community events supporting those organizations and promoting our TBDCC members! It’s a win–win every time we work together! Each year we are involved in events in our community such as the annual TBDCC Toot n’ Holler (Tottenham & Beeton), TBDCC Annual Golf Tournament (supporting organizations such as Matthews House Hospice, Royal Canadian Legions and more), The Beeton Honey & Garden Festival, The Tottenham Bluegrass Festival, The Tottenham Classic Car & Truck Show, The Tottenham Community Week, The TBDCC Annual Ducks 4 Bucks (DuckyDoo) River Races, The Beeton Fall Fair, The BTBIA’a Frightfully Fun Hallowe’en Family Event, The Tottenham and Beeton Santa Claus Parades, and so much more!”
“The TBDCC the first destination for many tourists to our New Tecumseth Area. Our office at 54 Queen Street S. in Tottenham is equipped with information for visitors to learn about our area, and office administrator Linda Spurr is happy to help provide this information to both visitors and residents!”
