The Honourable Dr. Kellie Leitch, Member of Parliament for Simcoe–Grey, made the following statement regarding the July 15th Cabinet shuffle.

“I am very happy to serve as the Minister of Labour and the Minister of Status of Women. I would like to thank Prime Minister Stephen Harper for providing me this opportunity to serve Canadians.”

“Since 2011, I have served as the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Human Resources and Skills Development and to the Minister of Labour. These roles have provided me the opportunity to meet with Canadians from coast to coast to coast to discuss issues that affect them most. As a Member of Parliament, I will continue to proudly serve the constituents of Simcoe–Grey.”

“As we begin the second half of our Government’s mandate, our focus will remain on jobs, growth and long-term prosperity. I look forward to working hard on behalf of all Canadians.”
