Leo Losereit announces mayoral race for Adj–Tos

Leo Losereit (last name pronounced low-sir-right) announced last week his candidacy for the election of mayor in the township of Adjala-Tosorontio.

A former Adjala-Tosorontio councillor and mayoralty candidate, Losereit says he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to a new council table. “I have the energy, focus and the determination to follow through with projects and ground level ideas while keeping the taxpayer in mind for savings and efficiencies.”

Leo’s career is based in agri-business and is a community volunteer leader by serving on Boards and groups throughout the South Simcoe County most of his life. Currently he is president of Everett Baseball Association, executive member of Everett Legion, board member of South Simcoe Minor Baseball, vice-chair of Alliston Area Physician Recruitment Committee and Secretary–Treasurer of Cookstown Curling Club.

His platform is fairly simply – peace, order and good government.

“We can be leaders in this area without acting like North Korea in Simcoe County. We can build partnerships with area municipalities and public delivery stakeholders while ensuring efficiencies. We can implement moderate controlled growth that follows the principles laid out in the Places to Grow Act and stick to a plan rather than redevelop plans over and over again. Also, like any organization, our local government deserves an organizational review of how best to serve our constituents.”
