Local history happenings

January 15, 2016   ·   0 Comments

It may be a ‘New Year’ but ‘Old Things’ are more exciting. At least that is how it appears to the members of the Tecumseth & W. Gwillimbury Historical Society who delight in their annual Show and Tell programme. They dust off their prized possessions, antiques, keepsakes and family stories to share with others at the January 18 meeting in the Tec We Gwill Hall in Newton Robinson. Your contributions would be most welcome so consider joining us at 7:30 p.m to meet congenial people and enjoy a social hour afterward.
Then, On Monday, February 15, two of our members will bring alive two ‘lost hamlets’ in our series of rediscovering forgotten local history. Our area abounds in interesting locations that deserve to be remembered and celebrated.
We are a vital and energetic Society; we look forward to welcome members, newcomers and visitors alike. For more information on our programmes and activities please phone June at 905 775-7144. You will be glad you did.
