Dr. Kellie Leitch, Member of Parliament for Simcoe–Grey, Minister of Labour and Minister of Status of Women, joined the ceremony at CFB Borden Friday May 9th that was held to mark the National Day of Honour commemorating the end of the War in Afghanistan. “I, along with a grateful nation, thank each and every one of you for your service and for the sacrifices you, and often your families, have made in the service to Canada,” said MP, Dr. Leitch. “Today is also a day to reflect and remember those we’ve lost. The men and women who gave their lives in this war will not soon be forgotten. They will always be remembered and their legacy will live on through their friends, their families, and a country forever in their debt. So once again, on behalf of the Government and people of Canada, thank you all for your service.” Pictured: The Honourable Dr. Kellie Leitch MP Simcoe-Grey (Right) with Bruce Stanton MP Simcoe North (Left) and Major (retd) Ken Hedges Honorary Colonel (Centre) at the National Day of Honour ceremony held at CFB Borden Friday, May 9th.
