MS Walk – every step matter to Kim

April 4, 2013   ·   0 Comments

On Thursday, March 27th, team leaders from the New Tecumseth leg of the ‘Mandarin MS Walk’ met at East Side Mario’s in Alliston to discuss changes to the 9th Annual Walk, which takes place in Alliston on May 5th. Last year, the local MS Walk had 174 registered walkers, who raised $38,401.33. The top fundraiser for 2012 was Ken Thomas and the top fundraising team was ‘The Flat Tire Crew’. This year, team leaders hope to register 175 walkers and raise $40,000. The MS Walk starts and finishes at Banting Memorial High School on Victoria Street. This is the largest fundraiser for the MS Society annually. Proceeds from the Walk are used to support both MS research and services, with some funds staying in New Tecumseth. A pizza party was supplied by ESM owner Erin Christiano for the occasion.
