No update on County waste building fire

An update on the possible cause and cost of the recent fire at the new Simcoe County public works building near Beeton will not be coming to Simcoe County council until next month.
At February’s county council meeting, Rick Newlove, the county’s Manager of Engineering, said that he hoped that an update on the February 26 fire would becoming to last week’s Corporate Services meeting.
No report was prepared for last week’s meeting. The fire did extensive damage to the works building garage and a number of pieces of equipment. The office in the building was also damaged.
The Ontario Fire Marshall’s office has been investigating the fire.
