“No wrongdoing” in Adj–Tos benefits complaint

The Ontario Provincial Police has found “no wrongdoing” in a complaint about the implementation of an Extended Benefits policies for staff and council in Adjala–Tosorontio township.
Mayor Mary Small Brett made the announcement at the beginning of last night’s council meeting.
The report from the OPP on the issue was discussed in closed session of township council before the start of the public council meeting.
A complaint was made in late 2015.
A second OPP investigation into the origins of a newsletter which was delivered to many township households in late 2015 continues.
The newsletter which mentioned the first OPP investigation appeared in township mailboxes towards the end of November. A letterhead on the newsletter identified it as a newsletter from Ward One councillor Floyd Pinto and Ward three councillor Bob Meadows. Both councillors have denied authorship of the newsletter.
OPP have interviewed a number of residents about the time of delivery and the vehicle used to deliver the document.
