Olympic Gold Medalist to appear at Plowing Match

Cal Madill, Chairman of the International Plowing Match 2014 (IPM 2014), is pleased to announce Olympic Gold Medalist, Jennifer Jones, will be the Parade Marshal at the Opening Ceremonies of the IPM 2014 to held at Ivy, Ontario on September 16th, at noon. Jennifer Jones is Canada’s most decorated and recognizable female curling athlete. Jones went undefeated at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, this past February and came home with the Gold Medal in Women’s Curling. “It is a great honour to have Jennifer as our ‘skip’ at the opening ceremonies”, said Madill, “she is a great Canadian champion, and we’re thrilled to have her join us.” The 2014 International Plowing Match and Rural Expo is a five day event that celebrates agriculture and rural living across Ontario. Simcoe County has hosted this event 5 times in the past 101 year history of the plowing match. The net proceeds of the IPM 2014 will be disbursed to charities and organizations in Simcoe County. The IPM 2014 will run from September 16th to September 20th.
