Police make psychedelic arrest

As a result of an ongoing investigation being conducted by members of the OPP Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) and the Community Drug Action Team (CDAT), a search warrant was executed yesterday at a City of Barrie residence.

OPP officers, who were assisted by members of the Barrie Police Service (BPS) attended to the residence where one adult female and four adult males were arrested. As a result of the search warrant, police have seized a quantity of drugs which include cocaine, lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD), ecstasy and oxycontin valued in excess of $15,000. Police have also seized a quantity of stolen property and a prohibited weapon.

Those arrested are scheduled to in court on June 13, and are facing numerous drug trafficking related charges and one male is also facing weapons related charges.

Due to the ongoing nature of this investigation, no further details have be released.
