Dear editor:
I was rather pleased to read the article in Sept. 26 Times regarding the plan to install stop signs and eventual stoplights at the Tecumseth and Main street intersection. That, in itself, should definitely improve the “Safety Issue” with large trucks using Beeton as their bypass.
I would also like to recommend however that we should plan to install either a 4-way stop or better still, stoplights at the intersection of Centre and Main. We just recently had a serious accident at this location and lights possibly may have prevented it.
I’m sure any driver who has ever needed to turn left onto Main Street from Centre would agree with me that it is a total “blind spot”. It would be nice if we were able to control the Gibson trucks before they start picking up speed again after being stopped at Tecumseth Street.
John Allen,
