The BTBIA (or should we say the BEE–TBIA) unveiled the artistic results of the first “The Great Big Beeton Bee Contest” this past Saturday at the Beeton Honey and Garden Festival.

With one honey of a first prize, $2000, artists were eager to submit their version of a bee, in hopes of bringing home the buzz.

The BTBIA volunteers registered just under 1000 voters.  Everyone was very impressed with the creativity of the various artist, and all the Bees on display at the festival. The contest was such a success that plans are underway to do it all again, so artists should start planning their bees for next year.

The downtown businesses of Beeton and Tottenham, are proud to announce the following artists, as the winners of “The Great Big Beeton Bee Contest”:

• The first place winner is Andrea Romanic of Tottenham.

•Second Place goes to Meagan Shaw of Bowmanville,

• Third place winner was Scott Rowe of Cookstown.

Prizes are $2000 for first, $1000 for second and $500 for third. A cheque presentation complete with photos of the winners and their Bees will take place this Saturday.
