The Rotary Club of Alliston will be hosting the first-ever Volunteer Fair in support of community organizations in New Tecumseth and Simcoe County.
The Volunteer Fair is designed to showcase the community’s charitable and service organizations which depend on the participation of volunteers for staffing.
“Our volunteers are crucial to our success as an organization,” explained Barbara Barta, Manager of Marketing and Communications at the Community Living Association of South Simcoe (CLASS). “We couldn’t operate without them. And so, this Rotary Volunteer Fair is an important forum for us to tell our story and enlist new recruits.”
The event will take place at the Community Hall on the second floor of the Alliston Arena on Nelson Street on Saturday, January 21, with 15 tables occupied by representatives from select organizations.
“We’re pleased to have CLASS join us on the 21st,” said Brian Carmichael, President-elect of the Rotary Club of Alliston, and lead organizer for this event. “Along with Matthews House, Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation, S.H.I.F.T., and many others, there are so many charities and service organizations doing great work in our community. We want to help them attract more people who will join their teams of dedicated volunteers in making a difference in their community.”
Residents of New Tecumseth and the surrounding region are invited to drop in and learn about these important organizations which add so much to the quality of life in the community.
The event will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the arena.
