The County of Simcoe, in co-operation with member municipalities, has extended seasonal load restrictions on all applicable County roads north of County Road 90 (including Clearview and Ramara) until May 15, 2014.
The extended load restrictions are being enforced due to the weather conditions and the continued presence of frost in the northern part of the County. For all County roads south of County Road 90, the seasonal load limits will be removed as usual on April 30, 2014.
“Temperatures, frost and weather in many parts of the County have combined to impact road, ground, embankment and ditch conditions on many of our County roads,” said Debbie Korolnek, General Manager, Engineering, Planning and Environment, County of Simcoe. “The extension will allow for greater long-term conservation of road structure and road safety.”
The County will work closely with the Ministry of Transportation enforcement office on the revised load restriction schedule.
