Seniors – Lean to cook at the Global Kitchen, Alliston

September 26, 2013   ·   0 Comments

Seniors in The Global Kitchen International Cooking Club in Alliston enjoy learning  how to make the perfect peppercorn sauce for beef tenderloin and why they should never brown the sugar on their creme brulée under the broiler. Many of the seniors are new to the area and are enjoying making friends while learning about international cuisines. So far the club has made Indian, Korean and French foods.  The group meets once a month at Knox Presbyterian Church from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. “We try to use the expertise of the members, but also local chefs so that we can promote their restaurants or catering businesses to the group.  Community response has been wonderful,” said Yvonne Konrad, Project Coordinator. For more information, contact Yvonne Konrad, at 705 435-4900 ext. 204, by e-mail at yvonne@contactsouthsimcoe.ca or online at www.contactsouthsimcoe.ca
