The South Simcoe Theater’s production, Jasper Station, is written by celebrated playwright Norm Foster (who also co-wrote the song lyrics) and with music and lyrics by Steve Thomas. In this contemporary Canadian musical, five diverse passengers meet in the waiting room of a train station. A junior reporter for the local paper is writing a human interest story and coaxes the others to open up about themselves; ultimately everyone – including the somewhat crusty stationmaster – agrees to reunite five years later to see how their lives have turned out. Jasper Station runs Thursday to Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. from April 11th to the 28th. Performances are at the Town Hall, 1 Hamilton Street, in Cookstown and tickets can be ordered/purchased through the box office 705 458-4432. This show is family-friendly.
