On Friday July 11, at 11:30 p.m., members of the Nottawasaga OPP while on bicycle patrol noticed a silver coloured Chevrolet Camaro racing southbound on King Street in Essa Township. Officers notified other officers on patrol and the vehicle was located on the 3rd Line of Essa where the driver had put the vehicle in the ditch and fled the scene, running in a wooded area. Police contained the area and called out the Central Region Canine and Emergency Response Team (ERT) members, who tracked the suspect to his residence where he was located in a greenhouse in the back yard and arrested. Charged is 23 year old Essa resident Cody Rose, he is charged with: Dangerous Driving x 2 counts, Criminal Code of Canada (CCC); Race a motor vehicle x 2 counts, (CCC); Disobey stop sign, Highway Traffic Act (HTA). He will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on August 14, to answer to his charges.
