The Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation has announced it has exceeded its goal during the Twin Your Gift matching program.
The program launched on October 1, 2021, and was made possible by an anonymous donor that matched the amount donated.
The anonymous donor matched gifts of up to $250,000.
“We are so fortunate to have this kind of incredible support from our anonymous, philanthropic community donor,” said Mary Thomas, CEO of SMHF. “It comes at a critical time in our bold campaign to redevelop Stevenson Memorial Hospital. With the urgent need in our communities for health care excellence, it’s vital that our hospital facilities meet demand. We need a revitalized hospital now and an investment of over $500,000 gets us one step closer to our goal.”
The SMHF board of directors and staff expressed thanks to all the individuals, families, local businesses, and companies, who donated and had their donation doubled thanks to the program.
“We are very grateful for everyone who responded to our appeal with their support,” said Melody McLean, director for development and campaign director at the SMHF. “It’s incredible to see the community inspired to help transform Stevenson.”
The money raised will go toward the fund for revitalizing the hospital. Over $500,000 was raised.
The “Because of you, we can” campaign is the largest campaign in SMHF’s history.
The hospital redevelopment plan includes a revitalized emergency department, doubling the square footage of the hospital ant tripling the amount of parking space.
Also included in the plan are refreshed outpatient rooms, birthing suites, and laboratory space.
