Students see the irony

Dear editor:

You are probably receiving many letters to praise Mrs. Curtis-McCabe and her Grade 7 students. I would just like to add my compliments to theirs.

This past week we have heard that our Prime Minister is recommitting to combat cyber bullying. He met with the families affected by bullying related tragedies that shocked the nation (I lifted that last sentence from Google).

At the same time we are exposed to “attack ads” on a regular basis which come, at very least, with Mr. Harper’s knowledge of them. It is so reassuring that the young people see the irony in this and speak out about it.

Congratulations to the Beeton Elementary School and of course Mrs. Curtis-McCabe for teaching the children to speak up, speak out and I suspect they are teaching them to stand behind what they say.

Dorothy Coburn, Beeton
