Stunt Driving

On August 21st at 3:11 p.m. on the 20th Sideroad at the 10th Line of Essa, a Nottawasaga OPP officer noticed a vehicle travelling westbound at a high rate of speed. Police locked the speed in at 151 km/hour in a posted 80 km/hour zone.

As a result of the investigation, 35 year old Jodi Gray of Essa Township was charged with the following charges:

1) Stunt driving, 151km/hr in a posted 80 km/hr zone, section 172(1) Highway Traffic Act (HTA)

2) Fail to surrender driver’s license, section 33(1) HTA

3) Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle, section 7(5) (a) HTA

The driver’s license was suspended for seven days and the vehicle, which was owned by a friend, was seized for seven days.

Remember if you are found in contravention of the Stunt Driving section of the Highway Traffic Act, whether you are driving your own vehicle or anyone else’s, that vehicle will be impounded for 7 days.
