Dear editor:
Concerts in the park have become a household event and the community looks forward to the summer Sundays. It is a free outside performance where family and friends come to have a Sunday evening picnic or get caught up on some local gossip. Some of our residents (for one reason or another) never get an opportunity to see live performances because of the cost involved. So this venue gives everyone the chance to see a Free, Live Bands perform. We schedule local bands in an effort to increase awareness of our local talent. Word has travel outside of Alliston now and we receive calls from bands that would love to part of this event.
Concerts runs for 10 weeks in the summer and has attendance of 300-400 people. A great place to bring your lawn chair, sit under the shade on the hill and listen to some great local music. Our first concert took place on July 7, and started at 7 p.m. This event now has become a regular part of our community and folks look forward to a Sunday evening at the park.
This event would not be possible without the support from local businesses which we have indicated below and will thank weekly at our Sunday evening concert.
Come out, have some fun, meet new or old friend and enjoy the music. Thanks!
