Taxi co. clears the air

March 28, 2013   ·   0 Comments

Dear editor:

This letter is a follow up to the article in The Times, dated March 14, 2013, regarding the routine inspections of all taxi companies operating in The Town of New Tecumseth. As the Operator of New Tecumseth Taxi Inc. and New Tec Taxi II, I would like to comment on the facts of the article and set the record straight, as it relates to the safety of our customers and the integrity of our business.

I would like to point out that neither New Tecumseth Taxi Inc. nor New Tec Taxi II were charged with any violations that were reported in the 911 section of The Times on March 14. As the Operator of both companies, I take every step possible to ensure that all vehicles that are operating under both companies are fully compliant with the Highway Traffic Act and the Bylaws of The Town of New Tecumseth.

We did run an apology in The Times on March 14 and it is my belief that it was misinterpreted. The apology was for the delay in service while our vehicles were inspected by the OPP, “which I fully support”. All of the taxis belonging to New Tecumseth Taxi Inc. and New Tec Taxi II are, and always will be, up to the standards set out in the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.

We, at New Tecumseth Taxi Inc. and New Tec Taxi II, would like to again apologize to our loyal customers for any inconvenience caused by this temporary disruption in service.

Richard White

Operator

New Tecumseth Taxi Inc. and New Tec Taxi II
