The Historics get their ‘Bee’ On

This was the 4th. year for The Great Groan–Up Spelling Bee organized by the South Simcoe Literacy Council (Alliston) – Next Step’s. It was a very successful affair, enjoyed immensely by the participants, the audience and the Literacy Council. There were 14 teams vying for supremacy with their supporters cheering (and paying for an extra chance to win). The Tecumseth & West Gwillimbury Historical Society, “The Historics”, placed second thanks to “Emily Murphy” a.k.a. Kyra Gordon, “Dr. Frederick Banting” a.k.a. Dave Pooley and “D.A. Jones” a.k.a. Dona Pooley. The Society wishes to thank Bob Evans, Bradford lawyer, The South Simcoe Theatre and Kyle Hodgson, Cookstown Foodland for their generous loan of suitable garments.
