Tim Hortons annual Smile Cookie Campaign is back for another year of smiles in communities across Canada. Starting today for one week, Tim Hortons guests can purchase a freshly baked chocolate chunk Smile Cookie for $1 at participating restaurants, with 100 per cent of the proceeds in Tottenham being donated to Reach for the Rainbow.
“The impact of the purchase of each Smile Cookie is tremendous,” said David McMullen, Vice President Marketing, Tim Hortons. “At Tim Hortons we are fortunate to have very loyal guests and with their support, along with the generosity of our restaurant owners, the campaign becomes larger and larger every year allowing us to support hundreds of deserving charities and initiatives. We are grateful to have this opportunity.”
The Smile Cookie campaign began in 1996 to help raise funds for the Hamilton Children’s Hospital in Ontario and has grown to become an annual fundraising event at Tim Hortons restaurants across North America. Last year, the campaign raised more than $5 million across Canada and the United States. Nationally, more than 500 local charities are supported each year through the campaign.
New this year, Canadians can share their Smile Cookie Selfies with friends and family. Simply take a picture of yourself with your delicious Smile Cookie then share via Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using #Smile Cookie.
