An All–Candidates Meet & Greet, hosted by The Times of New Tecumseth, will take place on Thursday, October 2nd, from 6–9 p.m. at the Beeton Arena (upstairs).
All candidates, including those running for Mayor, Deputy Mayor and School Board Trustee, have been invited to the meeting and most have confirmed their attendance.
The unique Meet & Greet format of the evening (also used during the 2010 municipal election by The Times) will allow residents/voters the opportunity to approach their specific ward candidates for a one-on-one discussion, without hours of debate that doesn’t necessarily apply to their ward. Candidates will be seated by Ward to ensure equal opportunities for both candidates and voters.
Candidates will also be given a two minute window to introduce themselves – stating their name, ward they are running in, and their agenda for the next term of council (2014–2018, commencing December 1st, 2014).
The event will be moderated by Brian DePoe, General/Station Manager at 92.1 myFM, and aired on Rogers Television, Channel 65 Alliston/Borden.
Doors open at 6 p.m. and candidates have been encouraged to bring promotional materials, signs and buttons for residents to take away with them.
