Tottenham takes on Newfoundland

The Tottenham Merchant 60+ team travelled to Gander Newfoundland for the SPN Nationals where they beat the Mount Pearl Valley Cats and Newfoundland Fogies on Friday, August 2. During a normal Newfoundland downpour on Saturday morning they lost to the Hub Trophies (St. John’s). The sun then returned and they again beat the Fogies in the afternoon. At Sunday noon they unfortunately lost a second time to the Hub Trophies. By beating the Valley Cats at 1:30 p.m. they had to face the Hub Trophies for a third time at 3 p.m. Despite a valiant effort the Hub Trophies did again win leaving the Tottenham Merchants in a very tired but exuberant 2nd place. They are pleased to announce that no oxygen was needed and there were only a few minor scrapes as injuries. An excellent time was had by all and the team looks forward to a rematch – in say another 5 years time!
