TottenHUG brings the town together

February 8, 2017   ·   0 Comments

The second annual “TottenHUG” event took place Jan. 28 at the Tottenham Legion. Organized by Rob Farah, TottenHUG was an opportunity for members of the community to come together, share a hug and a laugh, and forget about their winter woes. “Thank you to everyone who participated in the TottenHUG 2017,” said Farah. “By all accounts we had 185 Huggers come out to the Legion. Not bad for a cold snowy day. We managed to fill the back of a pick up truck with food bank donations. A few people deserve an extra HUG for helping me put this together. Sean Bourke for entertaining us, Gary Brown and the Tottenham Legion, Len Mizzoni, Nobleton Tim Hortons for providing the coffee and hot chocolate, Dave Powrie, Kim and Scott Peters, the Tottenham Steam hockey team, and my wife Sue Farah. Also I’d like to thank our mayor Rick Milne, and councillors Chris Ross, Richard Norcross and Marc Biss for their support. I would also like to express my appreciation to everyone for making my granddaughter, Eloise, first birthday so memorable. When you all sang Happy Birthday to her it brought a lot of warmth to myself and family. Now it’s time to start planning TottenHUG 2018.”
