Town adopts new visual identity

March 28, 2013   ·   0 Comments

The Town of New Tecumseth has adopted a new, fresh and colorful corporate logo. Originally created for the 2011 downtown themes and signage project, the new logo design, which includes the names of the communities of Alliston, Beeton and Tottenham, replaces the three pines logo adopted from Tecumseth Township at amalgamation in 1991.

Citizens and visitors may have noticed the new visual identity being utilized by the Town for trail signage and large playing facilities such as Mel Mitchell sports fields, Coventry Park ball fields and the 14th line fields. Community gateway signs with the new look will be installed this spring.

The new design will be phased in and used on the Town’s marketing and promotional materials, including letterhead, business cards and web collateral of New Tecumseth staff and elected officials. Council approved the gradual implementation of the new visual identity on pre-printed materials like tax and water bills. Capital assets like vehicles, town uniforms, and facility signage, will have the new logo added as they require replacement.

“Branding, marketing and signage are all part of our economic development strategy. From an economic development and communication standpoint, the new logo will provide the Town with a strong platform for consistent messaging and communication with residents, business and tourists. The new visual identity will raise public awareness of the wonderful communities that make up the Town,” said Director of Economic Development and Communication Services, Kim Wingrove.

The Town regards the image as a community asset, and is in the process of registering it and developing a policy to clarify how it may be used.
