The Town of New Tecumseth is developing a Parks, Trails and Open Space Master Plan, which will guide the future development of parks, trail systems, and open areas for the next 30 years as the town continues to grow.

For New Tecumseth council to ensure that the Master Plan will align with the wants and needs of the community, they want to hear from residents about how they think the Plan should prepare for the future.

You can access a Master Plan survey on the town’s website at www.newtecumseth.ca. The survey asks questions about park usage, including how often and which parks or trails you use, the time of day, and what you would like to see in parks and trails.

If you know someone in the community who wants to complete the survey but cannot access a computer or would like to complete a paper copy, please direct them to one of the three Town of New Tecumseth Public Libraries. Each branch will have printed surveys and a collection box for completed surveys.

The town will be hosting three open houses this summer to get feedback on the Master Plan. These events are in a ‘drop-in’ format and allow you to come in at a time that works best for you.

Open houses will take place on:

June 6 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Beeton Memorial Arena, in the second level Community Hall, from

June 8 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the Tottenham Community and Fitness Centre, multi-purpose room.

June 20 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the New Tecumseth Recreation Centre, the Endzone (Second level).
