Plan on travelling the Adjala–Tecumseth Townline this summer? Make sure you follow the detour signs.
With the award of Tender No. T14-02 to Coco Paving Inc in the amount of $1,331,529.02 (with a project contingency allowance of $250,00) at Monday’s council meeting, council will see to it that the dangerous stretch of road between the 10th Line and 11th Line (which has claimed several lives) will receive much needed repair.
RJ Burnside and Associates Ltd. has been retained to provide full-time inspection and contract administration services of the project in the amount of $122,799.
The works will take place from May 5 to August 29, during which time the ‘Townline’ will be closed and detour routes will be set up, presumably guiding motorists and cyclists back over to Tottenham Road.
Residents who live on this stretch of the Townline will be allowed access to their homes, and garbage collection and mail delivery will be coordinated with the County of Simcoe and Canada Post respectively without disruption.
