Essa township has got the okay from Simcoe County to extend its trail network through a county owned forest on the outskirts of Angus.
Council received a letter last week from County Forester Graeme Davis. Davis said that the county planned to keep the Rippon Tract along Highway 90 for some years, at the very minimum, and was willing to work with the township to place the proposed route which will run through the middle of the tract.
The county is doing some selective harvesting in the winter to improve the forest’s health and will work with the township to select the final route next spring.
A possible template of an agreement was sent to the township for review and possible modification.
