June 1, 2013   ·   0 Comments

Between May 31st and June 1st, Simcoe County will host one of the areas biggest music festivals, and support a great cause while supporting thousands of people. The Enbridge Music On Main Festival will be spread across various venues throughout Alliston, Beeton, and Loretto. The festival was organized Paul Fairley, Kit Andrew, and Admiral Creative Group. Twenty artists of various genres will be performing live, including two iconic Canadian bands which are headlining the event. Juno winning band, Trooper will be headlining the festival and The Spoons will be the supporting act. Trooper has been entertaining the music world since 1975, and has become a part of Canadian music history.

The band that performed such hits as: “We’re Here for a Good Time (Not a Long Time),”Raise a Little Hell,” “Two For the Show,” and many more will help bring back memories for thousands of people. Trooper has performed at events for over 25 years, and vocalist Ramon McGuire understands how important the bands fans are, “Interacting with our fans is super important to us. Our whole focus as a band is the people who come out to see us. We sometimes spend more time with the audience after the show at the t-shirt booth than we do on stage.” Regardless of the bands numerous awards and hit songs, Troopers large fan base is its greatest accomplishment , “Our greatest achievement is the large and growing army of fans that has developed over the years. Without them we wouldn’t be where we are today.” Besides the opportunity to perform for thousands of loyal fans, the music festivals charitable aspect is what intrigued the band.

Proceeds from the Enbridge Music On Main Festival will be directed towards the University Health Clinic, and The Toronto General & Western Hospital Foundation in honor of Paul Fairley’s business partner, Kit Andrew. Andrew’s recently underwent surgery for Arteriovenous Malformation, a rare illness which effects the body’s blood vessels. Andrew is extremely thankful for the treatment he received throughout his illness, and Fairley stated that they needed to give back to the hospitals, “This organization literally saved one of my best friends life. We are all incredibly thankful for their dedication to helping him get better, it’s the very least we could do.” Andrew, Fairley, and the Admiral Creative Group are confident that the music festival will be one of Simcoe County’s greatest events, but it means a little more to Andrews, “Brining awareness to this cause is extremely important, because it’s not something that’s talked about everyday.”
