On Friday, May 10, shortly after midnight, an officer from the Caledon Detachment of the OPP was travelling on Innis Lake Road when he observed a Dodge Ram on fire in a field north of Old School Road. An investigation revealed that the owner was from the Alliston area and police contacted Nottawasaga OPP to assist. With their assistance, the suspects were located and arrested. A search of the vehicle they were travelling in uncovered evidence in relation to the arson.
As a result of the investigation, Kenneth Montgomery, 20 and Giuseppe Bellissimo, 38, both of New Tecumseth were arrested and charged with Arson and Conspiracy to Commit an Indictable Offence.
The accused males are scheduled to make their first appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on June 20th.
