Phase I of the bridge widening project on the Adjala-Tosorontio Townline has been awarded to McPherson-Andrews Contracting Ltd in the amount of $825,788.65 plus H.S.T.
The project includes the construction, geotechnical inspection, and related project contingencies and will be funded by long-term indebtedness.
Two bridges along the Townline (Bailey Creek and Municipal Drain No.1) require deck widening to provide a standard platform and to repair bridge deficiencies to meet current design standards.
Including a project contingency fees, and the retention of RJ Burnside and Associates Ltd. to provide full-time inspection and contract administration services in the amount of $40,550.00; the total project cost will be $1,135,204, an unfavourable variance of $308,599.33.
The Adjala-Tecumseth Townline will be closed from the 9th Line to the 10th Line from June 3 to August 30, to complete the reconstruction of the Bailey Bridge and from July 2 to September 27 to complete the reconstruction of the Municipal Drain No.1 Bridge.
