Walking for African grandmothers

Volunteers get ready to head out for the Stride to Turn the Tide walk in support of the Stephen Lewis Foundation’s Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign. The local chapter, Grandmothers Embrace, South Simcoe, hosted the event which took place through the streets of Alliston on Sunday, June 2. The event supports grandmothers in Africa who are caring for children orphaned by the AIDS epidemic on the continent. This year they raised $4000! “Our group thanks everyone who supported us, with a special mention of Alliston Home Building Centre”.
