The Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority is warning the public and especially children to stay away from all area water bodies as unstable ice cover, fast cold flowing water and slippery banks will result in dangerous conditions. The warm temperatures and rain from the last several days have caused much of our snow pack to melt, resulting in high water levels and flow conditions in our rivers and streams. It is advised that flooding in low lying, flood prone areas could occur. Current weather forecasts are predicting temperatures to drop below freezing again this week, which will slow the snow melt runoff. Pictured: “Lake New Tecumseth”, on Tottenham Road Tuesday morning.
