Who doesn’t love a brownie?

It’s a cool winter night as the 4th Alliston Brownies gather for a special outing at 49 Victoria St. West in Alliston to interview a local artist, Treese Moore.

The excitement of earning 2 brownie badges; “Artist at Work” and “All About Art” and adding them to their sash was building as they eagerly waited until the whole troop had arrived.

In preparation for the evening’s adventure the Brown Owls (leaders) had a list of questions in hand that the girls had come up with the previous week.

“Is this your dream job?”

“Do you have any unfinished paintings?”

“Did you always want to be an artist?”

The joy of teaching junior Picasso’s, sharing my talent, teaching skills, designing logos, being my own boss, Yes, I guess it is my dream come true. My aim is to encourage, inspire and instruct people of all ages.

The bright colourful fish above the drinking fountain were swinging with delight at all the bright eyes and little hands eager to paint.  Let’s get messy!

Red mixed with yellow, what does it make? Paint brushes in hand, smiling faces and friendly chatter filled the studio as egg cartons changed colours to become part of the giant colour wheel eggstravaganza project.

An evening of great achievement after 22 pairs of hands were washed and dried, 88 egg cartons painted, and 44 badges handed out to the darling little girls as they left the studio.

A great big “Thank You” to all the brownies, students and friends who have helped create this eggciting colour wheel, drop by the studio and see it to completion!

It all started on November 3rd, 2012 at our Grand Opening Event. The public was encouraged to participate and be a part of this art project designed to absorb the echo in the space.  Egg cartons, a natural, recycled, sound acoustic enhancer.

Together our community has painted this colour wheel, let’s keep painting and turn out another “eggstravaganza” project. What  will we create next?
